Wheel Pack (5)- Chiang Mai

Its time for Chiang Mai.. A place was so famous with its 'marijuana'(ganja) business in the past time. My mum was so worried when i told her i'll be in Chiang Mai but actually its very safe now. On the other hand, my partner was headache with our itinerary, she wanted to go weekend night bazaar which falls on sunday. Yet, its impossible for us to stay for 5days there as there's not much thing to explore. So, we've decided to go Pai which is 4hours away from Chiang Mai. What's interesting is we need to experience 862 sharp curves to reach Pai. Will tell more in the diary~

7 June

We bought our ticket to Chiang Mai from Ban Thai GH, it cost 218B. Dodo picked us at 6:45am, and reached bus station at 7am, before he left, he said 'chokh di' which means good luck in thai. LOL!! not to be forgotten, he taught me few words in thai, but i has returned to him d.. hahaha..

Reached Chiang Mai at 1pm. Once we came down from bus, there were many tuk-tuk offering their ride! We picked the wrong tuk-tuk, he told us that he knows the GH, but later on, he called for help.. SWEAT!! ended up, he dropped us at somewhere and we have to find it ourselves.. The one we wanted was Golden Horse GH, which organized by Taiwanese; too bad we couldn't get it so we checked-in to Ban Wiang which is near to Tha Pae Gate & Sunday market which was my partner's favourite!

Both of us were so stubborn and insisted to find out where's the Golden Horse GH, so walked around to find it out.. Finally, we managed to dig out where is the exact place, its a hidden place with surrounding of flats.. its so not convenient which made me feel that their reviews were faked. In the website, they got top rank for GH. It was so wrong!!! LOL!! ishhh! Then only we willing to take our lunch.. We did crazy things at times.. Pad Thai was my choice!! hahahaha..

I found alots of cooking classes and outdoor activities like planting at organic garden, day tour and etc in Chiang Mai. Ohh, my purpose here is to go Long-Neck Village, so we did some survey, none of them can attract me! If its a day tour, two ways already took 6hours, the left 3hours is not enough even for sight-seeing tour! We gave up for day tour. Hanging around and reached Wat Phan On, very nice temple. I was attracted with its paint on the wall. And while i was enjoying the paint, my partner talked with a lady, she told us we don't have to go so far for long-neck village, they can be found in Chiang Mai. After discussing, we went to TAT(Tourism Authority of Thailand) for details. When we were on the way, there was a man following us! When we stopped, i saw him stopped and looked around just like what in the movie! >.<" Then when we walked, he walked.. OMG!! With fastest speed, we tried to get rid of him. Luckily he lost us when we entered TAT!! LOL!! That's crazy! I was so worried about my baby & netbook & back pack!!!

Talked with the person incharged in TAT, there is no long-neck village in Chiang Mai but Mea Hong Son. Too bad!!! its hours journey to that place.. sighh..

Continue our journey to Chiang Mai's Tha Phae Gate. "Tha Phae" or raft landing can be referred as there's a time where people would reach the city of Chiang Mai by raft. It was the only entrance to enter the city. We left after some shots! And continue to Wat Bupparam. Inside the wat, there's a place which lady is prohibited, i was wondering why?! we don't manage to figure it out. :S

As my partner planned, we went Warorot market for dinner, and did 'some' shopping over there, their things are cheap!!! Warorot market is actually for locals which their thing is cheaper compared to those especially for tourist. Then, we walked to Night bazaar which located not far from Warorot market. The stalls over there are almost the same like what we have at Batu Feringgi which really shut us down! hahaha.. And when we go deeper, there's another heaven! wow!! wow!! Met Ole, the seller at the market, her clothe just nice & consider cheap. Yet, if u are on budget trip, u'll still ask for discount! LOL!! grab few clothes from her, she told us that she has another shop at morning market(forgot the name of the tower d). She's hoping we'll look for her tomorrow. Yes, if we could find the building.. hahaha..

8 June

We rent a motor from Ban Wiang, its kinda troublesome. They want passport or deposit 3000B! After long discussion, we gave him 3000B for the deposit. Kinda worry as we'll depart to Pai in the morning tomorrow, but too bad, its too dangerous to give passport to others!

Rode to morning market. Chiang Mai is such a heaven if u love shopping!!! LOL!! Tried our best to find Ole's building.. and accidentally, we entered there! hahahaha... And because of that, met another friend of Ole, and my pocket broke for 250B! LOL!!

Then, we proceeded our journey to Central Plaza, this is the 1st time i entered the mall after so long! hahaha.. Window shopping for hours.. and had 'luxury' dinner for that night. wheee... When we came out from the mall, the wind blew super strong until i'll fly away (ok, i'm joking!).. hahahaha.. On the half way, it rains, no time to put on raincoat, so.. just ride home! pity..
