Wheel Pack (3)- Ayutthaya

2June
After getting ourselves ready for next station, Ayutthaya. Yet we have interchange at Bangkok. Left Tong Mee GH at 9am. Van ticket to Bangkok cost 180B. To feed our stomach, i choose the cheapest set for breakfast at 7-eleven, 21B.. LOL!! The van departed at 930am. When on our way, the van went to fuel up, during the process the passengers have to leave the van and wait at the outside, and there are few booths with stalls selling snacks and drinks, most of the thais will show their support, but i didn't :(

We reached Bangkok at 130pm and hang around there, waited my partner for her favourite ice monster (almost same as J-CO, 55B with 1 topping but its large). Headed to van station again, tiring as the wheel pack is fully packed and there is no escalator to cross the flyover!! *fruz*, van fare at rate of 60B departed at 330pm. Btw, personally i don't like Bangkok weather, its like been covered by something and the air can't flow out which makes this city looks hazy all the time.
super hazy Bangkok.
We were so lucky, on the way heading to Ayutthaya, it was raining. but the van has no sense to slow down his speed, inversely he speed up his van to 140km/hr. OMG!! that's crazy!!! i felt unsafe to have such driver. We reached Ayutthaya at 5pm. The van station is very near to few guest house, at first we wanted to check-in to PU guest house, but before reaching that, we passed through Tony's Place while every workers there were welcoming us. I was attracted by its all wooden decoration and my partner knew it, so she went for room viewing and she like it, so we make ourselves 3days at Tony's Place. Once enter our room, i was like WAaaaaaaa.....I FEEL GOOD... hahahahaha...

After settling down, we went to Ayutthaya Night Market, first try was fried shrimp and fried fish, 5B for each, both of us took 2. We were so wanted for Soy Bean too bad she has only take-away :( ; went for poppia, 5B for each; sushii, 5B FOR EACH (even its small, but worth!!); super yummy otak-otak, 30B. Burrpppp.... Then window shopping, its not expensive but has over our budget d.. so, empty hand heading back to Tony's Place.

Went out at 10am for bicycle rental, for whole day cost only 40B. I was so excited and ready to explore the heritage..The first wat we went was Wat Mahathat, its awesome and its like the lost city. Yet, admission fee needed, so we skipped it.. Second station was Wat Ratburana. AND!!! its only half an hour we were away from Tony's Place and its started to tik tok tik tok!!! arhhh... ruined my sunny day... went back to Tony's Place and waited for the rain to stop, around 1pm, we went to day market to feed stomach.. hahahaha..  snacks are cheap!! each stick cost only 5B or 10B; fishcake, 20B plus black soya bean, 13B from 7-eleven, my lunch is settle.. 2pm, back to our track, cycling around the town, and we reached another famous wat, Wat Thummikarat around 330pm. After that, night market again, we have finished 2 cups of soya bean(yummy), 12B; Pad Thai (fried mee), 25B; fried mussel(not nice), 30B; coconut milk snack(too 'milky'), 14B. It was super tiring, we have decided to rent tuk-tuk for tmr(day tour) to save time and also prevent us from getting lost in the map again.. hahahahaha..

After grabbing breakfast from day market, sticks again, 20B; kuih kochi, 10B. Then dealing with tuk-tuk, 500B for 3hours. The tuk-tuk will cover 5places around Ayutthaya and last station will be Ayutthaya Floating Market. Our first destination was Wat Lokayasutha aka Lucky Reclining Buddha, when we reached there, there were people selling lotus and sticks, my first thought was bad, i felt they will re-sell our lotus after we offered to Buddha, its bad. I shouldn't think of this way, ended up, i still bought a lotus, 15B. :P

Next station was Wat Chaiwatthanaram with admission fee 50B, once enter the entrance, i was attracted by its super green grassy... so nice to lay there but its wet and weird. hahahaha.. hang around for shots and left, we didn't take the audio tour, else we will be given a headset, and there will be board assign 1, 2, 3 or 4. just press the tape and there are explanations for the scene. The scene here is awesome, too bad they never maintenance the broken part, or maybe that's why Ayutthaya is famous with what they left?

Third station, Wat Phu Khao Thong which means Golden Mountain coated with white for its body and gold on its top. No admission fee needed but my partner was so lazy to get herself up; so i did it myself. On the top there, it has a small hole to walk in, it was dark, and when walk until inside, i can barely see a Buddha and I sprained my leg, Ouuch!! Its pain, but when i 'confess' to Buddha am i over shouting on the top before that(communicating with my partner at the down hill), i feel my leg is better, believe or not, depend on u!

Fourth station, Wat Mahathat. We came here yesterday but we never enter. There's a awesome view inside the wat which there is a Buddha face is covered by the roots of the tree but its body has disappeared, no explanation on that. Wat Mahathat is actually a city during its period but later on the city has collapsed; only the structure has retained.

Last station for wat is Wat Yaichai Mongkhon, we skipped entrance feem 20B cause during that time, there were a lots of thais.. Wat Yaichai Mongkhon is a new temple which has only been around 100years, so, its structure still retain very well. Inside the wat, there is a reclining buddha before entering to further of the wat. And again, there is place to climb up, don't have to guess:i climbed up myself due to my super lazy partner. There is a small cave at the top and there are statues and people selling the "gold paper" to 'stick' on the statue of buddha.

After visiting all the temple, its time for Ayutthaya Floating Market which is about 10mins away from Wat Yaichai Mongkhon. This floating market is full with shops selling cloths, souvenir, letter box, food and etc!! when passed through the shop which the letter box is so attractive, we stopped by and posted to home. Their  coconut ice-cream with nuts is really a must which cost only 25B was served in coconut. Then shopping again! LOL!! shopping in thailand will never get bored, their cloths are cheap, i hope i can moved all the shirts go back.. HAHAHA. Ohhh, i entered a shop selling cartoon shirts, domo is so attractive yet i got the wrong size :(.. And talk with the man incharge, he told us he is the one designing these shirts, so we asked for his picture. LOL!!

wheel pack at thai (2)- Hua Hin

31May
The last day in krabi, woke up at 7am to pack thing then headed to restaurant for the last breakfast at the cliff view resort. it was a buffet breakfast included fried rice, fried noodle( in red which i found it nice), hotdog, ham, salad, fried banana etc etc. and of course they have workers ready to serve the omelette freshly.. and 830am the bus to surathani arrived. before that, i suddenly thought of the ticket because i was the one who took it but i couldn't find it in all my bags. quickly i called the agent and i left my tix over there.. i was in mess! LOL!!! ohh, we were undecided where to go, whether drop by surathani for one night or direct transit to hua hin, luckily got two thais who can speak little english and chinese are going to surathani and heading to hua hin. so, we followed them, at least got thais to translate thing for us :)

the van picked us to another station for another van to surathani, when the bus arrived only me and my partner were dumped into that van to join others, at that time, we felt lost and if didn't get to meet up with thais, we have to make everything ourselves while most of the thais couldn't speak english. after 4 hours sitting inside the super shaking van, we reached the so-called-surathani bus station, i saw few back packers sitting there, but no thais. luckily not long later, they reached. as they instructed, we took tuk-tuk, 50B to the main bus station, and seeking for help, that's their first time to go hua hin as well. we were so lucky that we got bus at 230pm as the bus is not consistent and it cost us 255B and another lucky thing was we got free lunch! whee... its not only a pack of rice.. but our so-called-chu-cha.. Thailand is such a great place.. and not to be forgotten, thais eat super fast, within 15mins, our table left four of us.. wahahaha... besides, their toilet is so clean and unique.
Free Lunch! :)

The toilet, man on the left while girl on the right. i nearly go into wrong toilet.. hahahahahaha...

Ohhh, i've found out that, their highway don't have toll, as i came up from krabi to surathani to hua hin, the bus never stop to pay toll fee. another thing, the boleh country should learn from them!
At first, they told us that we need 6hours to reach Pranburi to transit to hua hin, but we reached Pranburi at 8:45pm and waited for another bus to hua hin.. such a long day, whole journey is about wait and wait and wait. even though the bus came at 9pm but it departed at 930pm, when we reached hua hin, its already 11pm. then, four of us went around to get the cheap guest house. we are so grateful to have them, im sure they weren't on budget trip, but because of us, they tend to get the cheap guest hotel, and finally, we checked in at Baan Permchan Guest House, and the rate per night, 700B. From its outlook, it should have themed by greece's style i guess. the room is small and the bed is not comfort, but we have no choice since its already late at night, its ok for one night stay. Then, we went for our dinner, i skipped mine, my partner has ordered pork fried rice, nice and it costs only 39B while they served soft drinks at rate of 15B. the other two thais have ordered the seafood, not one, but whole table.. if i wasn't in budget trip, i will do like they did!!! arrggghhh... budget! budget!! budget!!! after that, we went through the night market and saw many things!! ready for tomorrow shopping!!

After stunning with all the nice pictures shared by backpackers, we have decided to make a visit to Khao Wang, Khao Wang aka Palace Hill, its located on a hill where we can only reach by cable car or walk. So, after we checked-in to another cheaper guest house, Tong Mee rate at 550B and automatic motorbike rental, 170B.

We headed to our destination at 11pm, which is 60.1km from Hua Hin. Its not a short distance and my first time riding in Thailand has devoted to Khao Wang. And in order not to get lost, we have stopped by few times to get the directions and of course many thais couldn't speak english, but still they were trying hard to show us the way with sign language, draw map for us. i am so touch & comfort to be in thailand even i know none of thai. :P
the aunty was trying to draw d location map for us!
When my partner went for help! :P

After 2hrs, we have reached our destination safely. and i couldn't open my motorbike seat to keep my helmets... and seek for helps again. here came with 3 thais (guys) they were trying to open still failed to, its so funny looking at 3 of them with not knowing what they say but they trying to pull the seat. hahahaha.. then, a shop seller came and turn the key, the seat is opened easily.. LOL!!! Thanks again to thais!! :D
Bought our cable car ticket excitedly, and waited the cable car to exchange, here we went up to the hill, its short as only 40B for two ways. Up to there, both of us was so excited to enter the historical museum, BUT we reached to a booth with NOTE: foreigner have to pay 150B to explore the hill.. OMG!!! First feeling, i felt i get cheated!!! they should have wrote at hill side. both of us were so wondering, whether to go in or not. Finally, a decision of getting down has been made.. hahahahaha... its so wasted as in time we ride fore and back, fuel, time & energy! ish.. but whatever it is, it also an experience.. Even though it was waste, but both of us have enjoyed the awesome scene along the journey. we have stopped by few places for few shots!

After 1.5hours of riding, we reached Hua Hin at 3pm and instead of going back to Tong Mee, we continued our journey to Hua Hin Railway Station which also a MUST GO tourist attraction. I wanted to take the train to Bangkok but the time is unmatched and the price is not cheap. so, mini van is the choice! Even though we don't have ticket, but we can still enter the departure for shots. As recommended, the railway station is nice and finally i got myself with the Hua Hin well-known Board. hahahaha...

Never mention about what we had right? its because both of us were so excited to find Khao Wang until we didn't take any meal since last night.. Damn Cool... And after added fuel, 126B for my bike i started to feel the hunger. Speed up the speed and got back Hua Hin, direct headed back to the railway station for few shots, we went back to Tong Mee, settle down then RAN to the lovely Hua Hin Night Market to get our first meal of the day.. Next destination> Ayutthaya.
Meal of the day, 54B.

Dessert. :)
